15-year-old Ikeoluwa Abioye has made her parents proud and broken the records yet again after scoring 9 A1s in the 2017 May/June West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE). She scored A1 in all the 9 subjects she wrote. The subjects include Maths, English, Further Maths, Chemistry, Physics, Civic, Catering, Biology and ICT. Abioye didn’t stop there! She also scored an amazing 305 in the last Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). Abioye, an indigene of Irepodun Local Council of Osun State, was recently celebrated and honoured by her alma mater, Starfield Schools, Iju, Lagos. She said, if sponsored, she would love to go to Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) or Harvard University to study Computer Engineering.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has refused to attend a meeting with the Federal Government scheduled for today. ASUU President, Biodun Ogunyemi, confirmed to Channels Television that the union will not attend the meeting. According to him, ASUU has met, discussed the new offer from the FG and submitted a proposal to the government. He said consequently, the union will only honour another meeting after receiving a reply to their proposal from the government. The meeting was confirmed in a statement issued by the Deputy Director, Press, Ministry of Labour and Employment, Samuel Olowookere, late on Monday, which was called by Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, following the failure of ASUU to get back to the Federal Government after both parties met on August 17, 2017. The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation on Sunday announced that about 98 per cent of all documents involved in the sale of crude oil were fake. It cautioned unsuspecting would-be crude oil buyers to be mindful of the activities of local and international fraudsters in the oil and gas sector. Proving insights into the modus operandi of the conmen, the NNPC’s Group General Manager, Crude Oil Marketing Division, Mr. Mele Kyari, said the corporation had no habit of selling crude oil from hotel rooms as done by the scammers. He stated that the good thing in all the unwholesome development was the fact that the NNPC documents had not leaked and stressed that nearly 98 per cent of all the documents involved were produced by scammers.
